Are we violent by nature?

The most dangerous and lethal killer on our planet is not the lion or tiger or the great shark but a weak and tiny creature known as man. History proves this, 1,50,000 people were killed and many more perished in order to conquer kalinga. 37 million people suffered death and injury during world war I and over 60 million were killed in second world war.
These genocides were carried out by humans, people like you and me. Man involves himself in mindless violence both on his own species as well as on other species. UN study has found out that nearly 20 million tons of fish are caught every year, 25% of this never reaches the market. It’s just dumped. This killing is faster than the breeding of fish which is ecocide.
This nature of humans is not prevalent in other species as they kill on need basis only. Every now and then we read about terrorist attacks, this is again an instance of mindless violence, terrorists are dedicated people who believe they are participants in a dynamic social or political process.
In most entertainment forms and in the actions of governments, there’s a streak of violence running through. One can see this even walking around the neighborhood, watching and listening to people, Violence – gross, subtle, physical, emotional and psychological – is everywhere. Victims and aggressors abound.
Before drawing any conclusion , I request all the members and readers of this blog to express their views.

Yes, you have well stated your idea. Human being is the only specie that turn on its family or co-fellows. Animals stand better as they kill to survive which is the right of all living being on this earth.
Human being, bestowed with extraordinary mind with infinite capability is proved the most hostile creature. If wisdom, intelligence and superiority encourages hostility then what's the use of us being the so called best creature of almighty.
Today most of the war is not for need but a result of bizarre whims of people in power.
Human being has proved itself to be the meanest creature so far. It kills others not to survive but to be comfortable .. what a show has been put up ??
Violence is one of the many traits gifted by god along with several other traits like peace, compassion etc...some of them r opposite to each other
These r lk basic hues of life..sometimes one overpower other..
We need to shed sarcastic approach toward violence which signifies hunger, desperation, loss...etc many facet of human life
Violence as an aspect of human nature is a definite. We are violent. Somewhere along the line of growth and maturation of our species, the idea of violence solely for food obtainment has shifted. Now man is violent to enforce his views on others, to eliminate the groups not like themselves, to take over possessions that are interesting to them, and sometimes, just to be bullies. You don't have to look at history to see it either. It is in our schools.
We have the children who love to please others and the children who love to be in charge. We have the children who force others using coercion, bullying, threatening and other tactics. Then we have the children who must make others do their bidding using violence. Even murder. If we cannot curb this in our children, how can we curb this in society? How can we curb it around the world?
