Life Is About Creating Yourself

>> Monday, August 8, 2011

I am probably not what I seem to be; I know not what I should be, I am definitely not what I want to be, but I am not what I used to be.

Changes are bound to take place, situation change too, but sometimes we fail to identify the moments that are possibly not the way we want them to be. we keep on hankering for the wishes that we might have made few years ago and in pursuit of the wishes that are old we fail to notice the glory, beauty and vibes of the present. Past is but a chunk of memory that engages our mind to a time that would never come. We linger in the moments that seem beautiful and enticing only because we could never gain over it. A question bangs my mind that why people really go after wishes and make them lust that make a firm residence in our heart and in turn toe the mind.

For someone you have lost you must spend the precious time in getting, exploring or in making a earnest effort in looking for other who is even more beautiful, pure and captivating. Life, sometimes, I wonder, earn the tapered off edge in quest of someone or something, ironically not in discovering which is yet unexplored. We generally tend to 'look for' not to discover. Discovery is essence of life, yes, life is the greates discovery that renders its bearer enlightened. Life is 'not suffering', however, what is enlightenment varies person to person. Lord buddha who quoated the above statement wanted somehow to make us wonder the sap of enlightenment not by gaining it but by discovering it. He wanted each individual to discover the element of bliss. To me gaining bliss is impossible, but to make a pursuit of it is even more enlightening.

We involve in the heinous act of abusing, scolding and sometimes quarreling over the issues that eat away our time which if was used would have gifted the happiness of gaining something positive. People get frustrated, irritated when they get trapped in traffic jam, when train arrives late or our beloved refuses for a date, but have we ever tried to gain the positivity of such moments. We hardly do it as we don't want to. Well, it is perhaps rightly said that we do what we want to do, our mind is nothing but instrument and sometimes the spinning cog of the mechanical mind needs lubricant of motivation, preaching or experience. We can think, judge and implement, but the sequence gets shuffled up in many mind and most of us land up for implementation without having thought or judged. Shear picture of immaturity...

Hold you emotions, direct them so that it gets channelized to a big and bright world. Lead your mind by the power of your 'being'... BEING a big word- Contemplate over it.

To think or not?

>> Tuesday, June 7, 2011

The god created us and we in due course proved to be species having unprecedented wisdom. Yes, we possess a mind that is capable of comprehending even the most intricate puzzles and we have heart which can feel even the most subtle emotion. In fact, human mind is a versatile instrument that can be deployed to do whatever its bearer want to.

Life is all about moving on, I remember a line which is quoted as "life is a like a riding bicycle; you fall of the moment you stop peddling", but what keeps us moving? Have we ever pondered over it? Well, to me it seems that HOPE is the greatest stimulant of life and we just move on hoping what we judge. Mind when rules the deceptive heart we feel resisted and when the heart rules our mind we might, possibly, have a fear of falling in abyss of sorrow. Well, in nut shell it can be infered that mind and heart are always at war.

We are different from animals because we have a unmatchable capability of thinking. The action of thinking is the most pondered over entity according to me. We can't proceed if we fail to think, and when we think we get baffled, we imagine, and sometimes get scared. Does not all this brings about a trail of confusion?...For me it does.

Mind is a great instrument, it behaves in a way you want it to. The greatest problem arises when the useless thoughts having a heretic link with past echoes the mind and renders us lost in it. We think, imagine and then lie down in dumps judging it in the way we want to. In fact we do what we wanted to, however, we baffle ourselves at the fag end. Many people does this and forget to live in the moment they are in.

Live in now and it will, certainly, make the mind noiseless and would make every forth coming second joyous and liveable. Life is a box which contain ample of surprises and delusions. Future is greatest delusion and past is but memory. A child forgets its past in no time and giggles with the toy he gets. Why can't we matured people be so? If we really can't be so then are we authorized to blame our mind because it can think and recollect? Fight against and give a hard push and snap out of the thorny and barbed trail of past that intrigues us.

Experiences in life are but surprises which sometimes make us happy and sometimes pushes us to groan...We are no different from a mad person who keeps saying aloud what he feels and we just do it silently inside us. We are creatures who can think and surprisingly this differentiating quality of us make us analyze it the way I did..

Changes
Landslide by Stevie Nicks

One of the lyrics in this song sets me to thinking about my life. She sings "I'm getting older too"

I know what she means. I feel some days like I have lived a long time. Well, 63 years is a long time, especially for a 5 year old. For my granddaughter, that makes me very, very old! To my mother-in-law, that is not so long. She is 87. She feels old too. But then, talking to the last remaining veteran of World War I a year ago, 87 is not old. He was 104.

We all get older. Some days I feel young. Playing with my grandchildren makes me feel young again. I remember when my own children were that young and wanted to play all day with Mom. I remember all the fun we had and try to re-create this fun for my grandchildren. The world is different, toys are different, life is different. Fun never seems to change. Kids still enjoy a romp in the park. Moms still enjoy a coffee with a friend. Grandparents still enjoy looking at and bragging about their grandchildren.

So what does it mean to say we are getting older? It can mean many things. It means we have done some learning about relationships and no longer expect everyone to treat us with love like Mom did. It means we have many life experiences and now know so many more things than we did before. It means we have looked at people from many opportunities and learned what makes people tick. We have also learned that we cannot expect all people to tick the same way all the time. Now we can stop learning and be old, or we can do something new.

I believe we are as old as we want to be. I choose to be a lifelong learner. I choose to keep my brain always learning more new things. At least one new thing every day! To me that keeps me young. I do not choose to sit in a chair and watch the world go past. I do not choose to let the rest of my life be one of sitting and thinking about what might have been. I do not choose to allow myself the sadness of constantly wondering what else I might have done with my lifetime. I choose to continue to accomplish whatever I can with whatever time I have left. I choose to behave as if this is not the last day of my life, but the first of many more learning experiences I have yet to do.

I know that someday I will die. I choose to make death come running after me as long as I can keep going. I will not lie down and will myself to die because I am old in some people's opinion. I will keep chasing life's experiences for as long as I have breath in my body, for as long as my heart will beat, for as long as I choose to keep running forward towards more and better knowledge.

I am afraid of change, but not abandoning my search for it. Through change, even fearful change, there is knowledge and life. Live each day as deeply as you can. I will see you in our future.

What Makes You Happy?

>> Sunday, January 2, 2011

A day of learning is a day of earning. Yes, indeed this statement holds a profound sense that has a great significance in one's life. Learning when meets consequences become an experience that's, as you all know, the unmatched mentor which is beyond getting replaced by even the best tutor. Experience, be it bad or good, has markedly immense impact on its bearer. It preaches a lot.

A person feels pity feeds a destitute and someone, on the contrary finds happiness in snatching off the bread, sufficient to eliminate the deadly hunger, from a beggar's hand. This is intended to facilitate the understanding of selfishness of a human being that seeks nothing but his happiness. Well, who does a thing that leads him to be unhappy? Possibly such a doer is mentally ill or viciously addicted to pain and sorrow. Well, what I want to lay emphasis on is that we do what we find happiness and satisfaction in. This is a bare presentation of selfishness that is probably inherent in all living specie on this earth. A teacher impart knowledge as it makes him happy, a social worker revamps the society in a way he wants everything to be set up for betterment, a politician makes himself happy by gaining over power; sometimes forgetting the purpose behind the power, a robber robs, a rapist rapes to vent out his uncontrollable wrongly channelized sexual drive. All the performers can be seen as character of drama who wants to outwit other one by gaining over happiness. Probably, they forget that happiness dwell within that demands the capability to discover and defeat his/her own noisy mind. Some repent and some rejoice after having performed his deed.

I would like to mention an incident while I was in overcrowded bus. It was all packed. People were raising their heads to breathe, probably everybody had become two inch taller :). After a while a girl with her guardian boarded the bus. She looked scared; she was palpitating and was behaving as if she was going to be hunted soon. She was mentally retarded. She looked sweet. Yes, she was beautiful. A gentleman offered her his seat. I was delighted. I was just standing in front of her. A feeling prevailed my heart strongly, I just wanted to hug her and cure her anyhow. At the very next moment, I saw a woman handing over her luggage to that child. I swallowed hard as I was not able to take that luggage off her lap. I flew in rage but thought that everything what happens that happens for good. I just observed the love that was biased in the lady who handed over her heavy luggage to that retarded girl, who couldn't even sit well. That lady had her own child who enjoyed the biased love. If love is profound then how it becomes biased, is it a true love, or what it is then....?
